BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF ACTIVITY

Job Fairs – Co Sponsored

On Thursday February 25, 2010 Clear Channel Charlotte Co-Sponsored the annual CIAA Career Expo hosted by Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association. Clear Channel Charlotte co-sponsors this event each year, and it continues to grow tremendously from year to year.   Hundreds of people looking for employment filled the enormous room at the Charlotte Convention Center to talk with the close to 100 companies that participated.  Clear Channel had 8 Hiring Managers as well as 3 employees there to talk with interested parties

Programs Sponsored By Schools

One of our Production Directors/On-Air Personalities works with the Carolina School of Broadcasting on a regular basis to teach students about Commercial Production and On-Air Presentation.  Once the students are ready to enter the production room he then takes over their instruction.  He usually works with each group of students for approximately 3 evenings.  A new group of students normally reaches this point in training each month so, he usually averages working with the CSB students about 3 nights each month.

On Friday March 5, 2010 one of our Production Directors worked with Fort Mill Middle School during their career day.  He spoke to a group of approximately 50 students regarding jobs in the radio industry, and one student was also able to shadow him for a day to get a first hand look at what is involved in this career path.

On Monday July 19, 2010 one of our Program Directors participated in a Broadcasting Seminar for the Kellar Radio Talent Institute at Appalachian State University in Boone, NC.  The seminar was held from July 12 through July 21, and included 32 of the best broadcasting talents from across the Southeast.  Our PD taught a class on ÒOn-Air Delivery, Inflection, Pacing, CommunicatingÓ.

On Monday July 19, 2010 one of our Assistant Program Directors/On-Air Announcers participated in a Broadcasting Seminar for the Kellar Radio Talent Institute at Appalachian State University in Boone, NC.  The seminar was held from July 12 through July 21, and included 32 of the best broadcasting talents from across the Southeast.  Our Asst. PD/On-Air Announcer taught a class on ÒBasics of Doing a Great Music Radio ShowÓ.

On Tuesday July 20, 2010 one of our Production Directors participated in a Broadcasting Seminar for the Kellar Radio Talent Institute at Appalachian State University in Boone, NC.  The seminar was held from July 12 through July 21, and included 32 of the best broadcasting talents from across the Southeast.  Our Production Director taught a class on ÒWriting for RadioÓ, and ÒBasics of Great Voice Work and ProductionÓ.

Internship Program

We conduct an on-going Internship Program that offers the opportunity to experience and learn all about the mechanics of the radio industry. We offer a well-rounded internship experience with participation in Promotions, Programming, Sales, Accounting and Production.  The internship covers one semester and all students applying must be eligible for college credit.  We had 12 students participate in our internship program between 8/1/09 and 7/31/10.
