Jake Owen spent the summer opening up for the Brothers of the Sun Tour.  At the Charlotte show, he endured a southern summer rain shower during his set and made the best of it.  Then, he watched Kenny Chesney and Tim McGraw play to a packed stadium.

Now, it is Jake's turn to headline.

He's touring the country on CMT's The Summer Never Ends Tour.  He discussed what it is like to headline a show:

"I listen to the crowd yelling. There's a cool feeling of hearing the intro music fade out, the lights dim and go down. And when the crowd knows the show's about to start, they start screaming. I like that feeling because it's taken me a while to get there. I remember when I first got a record deal and got out on the road, people didn't know who I was. No one screams for someone they don't know, so it's nice to hear people getting ready for it now."

After slowly rising as a star in country music, Jake Owen has really took off in the past two years with the release of his Barefoot Blue Jean Night album.  The album features Jake's first two hits, the title track and Alone With You.
